Supreme Court Judges Seniority List 2024 has been Announced on Today 23 October 2024. Justice Yahya Afridi was recommended as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan by a Special Parliamentary Committee meeting, which was held for the first time in the nation’s history to choose the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). On the seniority list, Justice Yahya is ranked third. Kamran Murtaza of the JUI objected to Justice Yahya’s appointment as chief justice. The JUI wanted Pakistan’s next chief justice to be the most senior.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s Supreme Court is the highest court in the legal system. Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan retire at age 65 unless they are fired or resign before then.
On September 17, 2023, Qazi Faez Isa became Pakistan’s Chief Justice. He took an oath to become the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan during a ceremony held in Aiwan-e-Sadr. He is expected to serve as Chief Justice until October 25, 2024.
